Randolph School is seeking a creative and versatile physical education teacher to work with students on our Drake campus. The primary responsibilities consist of teaching physical education classes, along with social-emotional skills and character education, to our PK-8 students.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Love and nurture children within a supportive and inclusive environment
• Inspire students to reach high standards
• Plan, supervise, and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum in accordance with the philosophy of Randolph School and in collaboration with other PE teachers and coaches
• Be knowledgeable about children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development
• Contribute to the further development of our Athletic Performance program for 7 th -8 th grade student-athletes
• Ability to coach athletic teams
• Demonstrate a history of collaborative relationships with parents and colleagues
• Maintain effective, safe, inviting, well-organized and inventoried learning and storage spaces
• Effectively monitor and manage student performance, behavior, social development, and health using a variety of assessment methods to evaluate student progress
• Demonstrate effective written and oral communication (parent conferences, written correspondence including narrative reports)
• Understand and appreciate the independent school philosophy
• Serve either as an advisor to a small group of middle school students or share responsibilities with lower school faculty

Qualifications:

• S. or B.A. in Physical Education or Sports Science/Studies from an accredited institution required, M.A. in Education and current AL teacher certification preferred
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in teaching lower school and coaching preferred
• Independent college preparatory school experience preferred
