The Application Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting our sales team by providing technical expertise, product demonstrations, and application support to potential and existing customers. This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical background in solar energy systems, excellent communication skills, and a passion for renewable energy solutions.
This role requires 2 days per week onsite!
What you’ll do:
- Provide technical support and guidance to customers and the sales team, ensuring a clear understanding of Morningstar Corp.'s product offerings.
- Conduct product presentations and demonstrations to customers, both remotely and in-person, showcasing the features and benefits of our solar controllers and inverters.
- Collaborate with the R&D and technical teams to stay updated on product developments and innovations, ensuring accurate and current product knowledge.
- Assist in the development of technical documentation, including datasheets, manuals, and application notes, to support the sales process.
- Address and resolve pre-sales technical queries, facilitating a smooth transition to the post-sales support team.
- Participate in trade shows, seminars, and workshops, representing Morningstar Corp. and enhancing brand visibility.
- Provide feedback from customers to the product development team to guide future product enhancements and innovations.
Requirements
Education and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a technical sales or application engineering role, preferably in the solar energy industry.
- Strong understanding of solar energy systems, including solar controllers and inverters
- Strong understanding of industrial SCADA networking and communications technologies
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
- Ability to travel as needed to meet with customers and attend industry events.

- Field experience designing, maintaining, and/or troubleshooting battery-based solar energy systems including solar controllers and inverters.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
