Job description

Brandeis University is delighted to announce a position of Sound and Image Technology Specialist. Under the direction of the Associate Director for Sound & Image Media Studios in the Brandeis Library, this position will contribute to a robust instruction and support program for campus community members pursuing academic and extracurricular projects in video production, digital photography, audio production, graphic design, and animation.  Working within a suite of lab and studio spaces connected by a complex media technology infrastructure, the successful candidate will help maintain production equipment and editing systems, grow services and outreach/instructional programs, coach student staff, and coordinate appointments and training.  This position will also collaborate with other Library units to serve as the overall webmaster for the Library.

The hiring range for this position is $65,200 - $72,100.

This is a union position. Employees working in this position are covered by the collective bargaining agreement between the University and Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Local 888.  Provisions related to wages, benefits, and other terms of employment are contained in the agreement.

Primary Areas of Responsibilities:

Job Requirements:

B.A./B.F.A./B.S. degree required

1-3 years of related work experience

Additional Experience:

Experience with audio/video production & knowledge of a broad range of equipment.

Proficiency with digital media editing software, preferably Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, & affiliated apps in the Creative Cloud, as well as Logic Pro or a similar digital audio workstation.

Experience configuring & troubleshooting computers & software. Experience teaching or tutoring. Experience with web content management systems. Strong service ethic and passion for working in a learning environment.

Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
