TIME FRAME: This is a short term, seasonal position.

April 14 - May 9, 2024

POSITION SUMMARY:

Provide assistance to CEP Installer 1 with implementation of construction and décor of the Cultural Exchange Pavilion (CEP) as designed by the CEP Coordinator, working closely with site and décor departments.

REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED:

Good carpentry skills, experience with construction and painting required. Physical strength is required; some light to heavy lifting may be required. Must be comfortable using light tools, screw gun, staple gun as well as construction materials such as wire-ties for sign installation. Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to interact directly with Festival staff, artists, vendors, construction crew and art department. Endurance for long hours in an active, stressful production setting with the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Jazz Fest features one of the world’s most diverse music festival lineups with over 650 bands on fourteen stages performing virtually every style of music plus an extensive food fair, hundreds of artisans, second line parades and much more. Spread out over two long weekends in late April and early May, Jazz Fest takes place at the New Orleans Fair Grounds Race Track, located just minutes from the French Quarter.
