About Us:


At the forefront of medical discovery as it relates to understanding the causes of obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer and dementia, is a campus of Louisiana State University and conducts basic, clinical and population research. The Center includes Basic Science, Clinical Research, and Population and Public Health, enabling both focused research and translational science. Research at Pennington Biomedical is supported broadly by multiple , and includes approximately 65 faculty and 20 postdoctoral fellows who comprise a network of 44 laboratories and 13 highly specialized core service facilities. Pennington Biomedical is located within state-of-the-art research facilities on a 222-acre campus in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Job Description:


, a world-renowned academic research institute of Louisiana State University, is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator (Research Specialist) in the Clinical Trials Outpatient Unit.


The clinical research coordinator will work with a team of research specialists who are responsible for the coordination, planning, and implementation of exercise and lifestyle intervention activities associated with clinical research studies.



Major Responsibilities


Contribute to operational management of clinical trials, including but not limited to processing paperwork, coordinating meetings, planning trainings, designing and implementing project process flows and operations, and utilizing data entry systems.


Work closely with the study Principal Investigator and Project Manager on day to day operations for participating clinical trials and practices.


Maintain clinical trial documents ensuring completeness and accuracy; complete quality control measures on all charts as required.



Required Qualifications


*As part of a career progression group, vacancy may be filled from this recruitment as a Clinical Research Coordinator/Research Specialist 1 or 2 depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant.


Research Specialist 1


Bachelor's degree in health related field.


0 - 2 years of experience performing assessments or related.


CPR certification or ability to obtain after hire.


Ability to effectively work with clients in a non-judgmental approach and to build rapport and trust.


Willingness to teach and translate complex scientific information into everyday language.


Detail oriented with the ability to effectively multi-task.


Excellent communication and organizational skills.


Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.


Research Specialist 2


Bachelor's degree in health related field.


3 - 5 years of experience performing assessments or related.


All additional qualifications as listed above.
