RICHMOND COUNTY SCHOOL SYSTEM (RCSS)
JOB DESCRIPTION OFFICIAL TITLE: Truck Driver - Maintenance Department
SUPERVISOR: Area Foreman
SALARY RANGE : In accordance with RCBOE Salary Schedules
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 12 Months
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION: Truck Driver and material handler. Assist other members of the equipment crew in other areas, as needed.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: (Asterisk for essential job duties.) - *Responsible for using the proper equipment as needed and maintain the equipment in good working condition.
- *Ensures that trucks are properly loaded prior to movement.
- *See that materials or commodities are delivered, unloaded and appropriately stored at the correct destination on time and in good condition.
- *Make sure received and delivered commodities count is correct.
- Clean up and properly dispose of debris per assigned service tickets.
- Keep accurate records (travel logs, etc...)
- *Move school equipment and furniture.
- The employee shall carry out such other and further duties, whether specifically listed above or not, as are assigned or required by such employee's supervisor, other appropriate school personnel, law board policy administrative regulation, department handbook, as are reasonably necessary to the efficient operation of the school system and its mission.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS: Must be able to drive a truck 24,000 pounds and heavier. Ability to take and follow directions and carry them out. Good interpersonal skills.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE: High School education or equivalent preferred.
CERTIFICATE AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: Must possess a valid state commercial driver's license (CDL)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Good physical condition (on occasion lifts 100 lbs and higher and climb to heights of 20 feet to move equipment)
