JOB POSITION :       Senior Engineering Manager

LOCATION :             7000 Target Parkway North, Brooklyn Park, MN 55445

DUTIES :                    Responsible for a managing a team of full stack engineers that is building highly innovative and cutting edge software solutions; lead team, develop code, deploy and manage in production; while working with the Product owners, drive the product Net promoter score (NPS), user satisfaction, building the product roadmap and delivering highly functional, exceptionally innovative and intelligent software; act as the technical representative for team during cross-team collaborative efforts and planning; drive product development and operations with lead engineers and drive technical decision making, adhering to platform architecture and other enterprise decisions; focus on team management and development, and focus on writing production code and hands on active development of the capabilities and solutions; assist in defining infrastructure need, internal vs. external cloud and use of Target enterprise solution and drive resolution of technology roadblocks including code, infrastructure, build and deployment and managing overall software development cycle by adhering to development and security standards; establish good stakeholder communication and work closely with Product teams and influence set product roadmap and help drive requirements while being a strong advocate of extreme agile and DevOps practices across engineers; build and manage a team of high performing full stack engineers and provide leadership, coaching, motivation and recommend staffing levels, operating procedures, tools and systems for the team; provide career development and performance management to a team of engineers; and utilize tools and technologies including: Kotlin, GoLang, Kubernetes, Grafana, Kafka, REST APIs, Python, Typescript, Make/Shell, SNMP, Linux SysAdmin, Networking, Encryption, Redis, Mongo, OAuth, GraphQL, Postgres, Docker, Unix Shell Scripting, Putty, Spring Boot, Groovy, Confluence, JIRA, SQL, IntelliJ, Gradle, Tomcat, Spock, JSON, OpenShift, and Kibana. Position includes a telecommute benefit within commuting distance to Minneapolis-area Target office, as directed.

REQUIREMENTS :  This position requires a Master’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering and at least four (4) years of experience in software engineering (any title) working in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), developing and designing user experiences of applications, performing web page optimization of navigation, designing professional UI web applications, applying the latest software development approaches, and using test-driven development, Docker, Unix Shell Scripting, Putty, Spring Boot, Groovy, Confluence, JIRA, SQL, IntelliJ, Gradle, Tomcat, Spock, JSON, OpenShift, and Kibana. Position includes a telecommute benefit within commuting distance to Minneapolis-area Target office, as directed.
