Laboratory Scientist/Point of Care Specialist (POCS)
Full-Time
Shift: Days (Monday-Friday with rotating weekends and holidays)
Job Description:
Be dedicated to supporting the regional community to become the laboratory provider of choice by offering high-quality results using cutting-edge technology, superior customer service, and tailored information system solutions.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Prioritizes testing workload and performs all designated procedures within the assigned department in a timely and efficient manner.
• Assures quality results through the accurate and timely performance and interpretation of quality control.
• Performs software upgrades as required by the manufacturer.
• Assist with testing and validation of interfaces and POC devices.
• Is familiar with and abides by safety regulations.
• Maintain current knowledge of laboratory testing and quality management.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science, or equivalent
• ASCP Certified as a generalist or at minimum one department (Blood Bank, Microbiology, Chemistry, Haematology)
• Must have 5 years of experience as a Lab Technician and 2 years of experience as an MLS within the clinical or anatomical laboratory industry.
• Current MT or MLS certification or equivalent
