Summary:
As a Data Protection Analyst, you will be part of the Cyber Security Team that ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data across the AES enterprise. You will monitor, analyze, and respond to cyber incidents involving data loss prevention, insider threat, and data governance. You will also collaborate with other cyber security teams and stakeholders to implement data protection policies, standards, and best practices. You will have a strong background in cyber security, data protection, and cloud technologies.
Responsibilities:
Investigate and respond to data protection alerts, incidents and escalate as needed
Support data protection assessments and audits to identify and remediate any gaps or risks
Develop and maintain data protection documentation, procedures, and training materials
Support data protection awareness and education initiatives across the organization
Collaborate with internal and external collogues who focus on detection and response to external threat actors as required
Research and evaluate emerging data protection trends, technologies, and best practices
Required Skills:
3+ years working in a Security Operations Center focused on detection and response to internal or external threats
Previous experience working with SIEM/SOAR technology, Microsoft security tools and enterprise proxy solutions for DLP and insider risk management
Familiarity with data protection laws and regulations, such as GDPR, CCPA, etc.
Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences on data protection matters
Knowledge of data lifecycle management, data classification, and data governance principles and practices
Strong communication skills (verbal and written), including proficiency in English
Ability to work in an environment with evolving requirements and dynamic schedules
Desired Skills:
Certification in data protection, privacy, or security domains, such as CIPP, CIPT, CIPM, CISM, CISSP, etc.
Knowledge of data protection regulations and frameworks (GDPR, CCPA, NIST, etc.)
Ability to perform data protection assessments and audits
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
