ABOUT THE JOB
Wilson Daniels is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our growing Brand Marketing team in Napa, California. The Associate Brand Manager plays a key supporting role in developing and implementing the marketing plans and programs for a prestigious portfolio of luxury wine brands. The successful candidate will possess strong communication and organization skills, be detail oriented, and have the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines. Candidates should also be able to demonstrate initiative, creativity, collaboration, intellectual curiosity, and a desire to excel and grow professionally.
THE DAY-TO DAY
Assist in the development, implementation, and communication of brand marketing objectives, strategies, programs and tactics for all assigned wine brands
Develop best-in-class education materials, selling tools and Point-of-Sale
Cultivate relationships and manage projects in collaboration with key cross-functional partners including Sales, Creative Services, PR/Communications, Operations and Finance
Assist Portfolio Directors and Brand Managers with performance updates and formal brand reviews, communicate market insights and provide superior customer service
Contribute to the development and communication of brand standards that provide consistent messaging, imagery and quality cues, ensuring all marketing and educational materials adhere to these standards
Monitor competitive activities and identify marketplace trends. Make recommendations for new marketing program ideas and/or sales tools to help drive distribution and velocity
Represent brands as Brand Ambassador at trade and consumer events
Maintain current knowledge of key market profiles & market dynamics
Develop and grow professional knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional/trade publications; establishing personal networks
Collaborate with Marketing Coordinator to ensure proper handling of winery visit requests
Plan and coordinate Supplier market visits and Trade Trips
Collaborate with Brand Analyst to develop and track allocations, conduct depletion analyses, IRI/Competitive analyses, and track program performance and budgets
AM I THE RIGHT FIT?
Effectively present information verbally and in writing, communicating with managers, suppliers, distributors, accounts and consumers
Present recommendations in a concise, persuasive manner, both written and verbal, to all levels of employees, trade partners, customers and suppliers
Prepare effective reports, presentations and business correspondence
Perform basic business and wine industry calculations such as currency exchange rates, discounts, commissions and margins
Analyze sales performance data (depletions, shipments, revenue, profit) and identify insights, and formulate actionable recommendations
Utilize Excel & Powerpoint to analyze and present data & recommendations in an impactful way
Bachelor’s Degree with course work in business/marketing or equivalent experience
Passion for wine and food/wine culture
Two years of Sales or PR/Marketing experience; Brand management or food/wine experience a plus
Knowledge of 3-tier distribution system and/or experience with import brands a plus
Ability to lift/carry up to 40 lbs
Ability to sit up to two hours in an office and up to 6 hours in an airplane
Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include some evenings, weekends and travel
