Quince Street Village is a microhome shelter that provides safe sheltering for adults experiencing homelessness in Thurston County. CCS strives to provide a safe and respectful environment where program participants can access an array of emergency and supportive services and work towards more permanent housing. CCS staffs the site 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

Hope Village provides 8 to 10 microhome shelter units on Westminster Presbyterian Church’s property with support provided by the City of Olympia.

The Program Manager is responsible for the day, evening and overnight management and operation of Quince Street Village and Hope Village, in accordance with the mission and policies of Catholic Community Services. The position oversees the program operations, supervises site staff, ensures compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements, and is accountable for sound management of resources and achievement of key performance indicators of the program. The Program Manager is in charge of ensuring all data is tracked and in charge of completing all reports for the site. Most of the work is done outdoors since the sites are microhome shelters.

C) Staff Supervision (Appcroximately 1 Maintenance Tech, 2 Case Managers, 11 Program Generalists).

  1. Individuals engaged in or about to engage in verbal and physical conflicts with each other,
  2. Individuals engaged in conflict with staff
  3. Reports of individuals having weapons on premises
  4. Individuals experiencing medical crisis
  1. Conducts internal and external rounds throughout the facility and campus to monitor and ensure safety.
  2. Monitors facility and resident population for improper conduct or unauthorized persons inside facility
  3. Supports and enforces behavioral guidelines
  4. Escorts residents off of the premises when appropriate.
  5. Provides customer service to all visitors and site participants and assists them to authorized areas

 

  1. Communicates incidents, issues and other relevant information accurately and timely to appropriate staff through recording entries into computer system, log book and/or personally through meetings as appropriate.
  2. Completes and/or reviews and approves incident reports. Recommends policy and practice improvements. Ensures staff receives feedback for improvement of both security practice and incident report writing.
  3. Ensures that Ban Records are complete, accurate, and include a photo whenever possible.
  4. Ensure all relevant staff have proper training to effectively use the security camera system, including viewing in real time as well as viewing and saving recorded footage.
  5. Reviews and updates communication log and other communication systems daily to keep informed of issues. Ensures staff complete communication log routinely and completely using professional language.

D) Safety and Sanitation

  1. Ensure that all areas of the Site (entrances, exits, parking areas, common spaces, tiny homes, etc.) are free of debris and clutter.
  2. Ensure the latrines are clean and useable and report any issues.
  3. Ensure adherence to the Quince Street Village and Hope Village storage limits.
  4. Ensure that the site is visually tidy.
  5. Ensure proper procedures are followed to remove potentially hazardous waste.
  6. Ensure that equipment and furniture are in proper condition for use.
  7. Report any maintenance issues to appropriate person (Program Director, City Staff, Vendor).
  8. Ensure that the dumpster is only used by site participants to reduce garbage cost over time.
  9. Ensure garbage in the surrounding neighborhood is properly disposed of.
  10. Revise and update policies, procedures and forms to increase safety and quality of services.
