IFF’s Pharma Solutions business is looking to add a Key Account Manager to its outstanding North American Commercial team. We are searching for a talented person to help build relationships and drive programs that support growth at our customers. This position is based in our Wilmington offices, but will be remote/home office.
Responsibilities:
- Understand and leverage IFF’s strategy, values, organization, capabilities, proprietary technologies, resources, product and service offerings. Ability to convey technical/scientific data to all audiences.
- Position IFF as a strategic trusted partner by co-creating winning value propositions that satisfy customer needs and support them in achieving their business objectives.
- Identify customer needs aligned with the company solutions. Cultivate deep customer relationships at all levels through intensive networking and providing best in class customer service.
- Understand customer strategy, brands, potential and how IFF will deliver value to their business.
- Develop new business opportunities for the company’s entire product range for new and existing customers.
- Create, maintain, present and professionally execute account plans aligned with business objectives.
- Prepare sales reports and new business activity reports for the company management.
- Be accountable for accurate periodic sales forecasts and understanding of variances to forecasts and budgets.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience: 7 years of technical sales or sales related experience desired.
- Functional Skills: Proven business planning, sales/networking, execution, and follow-through skills required; experience setting annual goals and action plans for territory including key account plans; experience providing education and training to influence sales; demonstrated success in identifying and developing new business opportunities into sales.
- Leadership/Behaviors: Excellent customer focus; proactive; collaborative; self-motivated; driven to compete and succeed; high ethical standards
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills with the ability to lead and coordinate activities with internal support team and customers
- Knowledgeable of pharmaceutical industry trends, companies, technology. Formulation experience is a plus.
- Business to business sales experience in a technical sales environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Domestic travel, up to 40% of the time, required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required. Preferably in technical fields; biology, chemistry, chemical engineering, pharmacist or an equivalent combination of education and experience
