Job description
Rebel Space Technologies is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Software Engineer at Rebel Space, you will play a critical role in developing and maintaining software applications to support cutting-edge aerospace observability and cybersecurity solutions.
About Rebel Space Technologies:
At Rebel Space, our mission is to protect critical space infrastructure through enhanced observability and space system cybersecurity. We believe that as space infrastructure expands, it will be increasingly difficult to secure and monitor these systems against critical failures or evolving cyber threats. To address this, we are building software that empowers developers and operators to both rigorously evaluate and secure their systems from conception through to operations, and autonomously detect and respond to recognized threats or issues. We supercharge the way space infrastructure is tested, monitored, and secured, ensuring systems are safeguarded in an increasingly complex space environment. Join us in building the space security infrastructure of the future.
Senior Software Engineer:
In this role as a Senior Software Engineer, you will be a key member of our engineering team. You will lead the development of our enterprise observability software, contribute to our cybersecurity solutions, make architectural decisions for critical systems, and mentor a team of talented engineers. This role combines technical leadership, project management, and hands-on development to push the boundaries of space system security and observability.
Responsibilities:
- As a Senior Software Engineer at Rebel Space, you will be responsible for architecting, developing, and maintaining critical software systems for our observability and cybersecurity platform, which includes controls, interfacing with data acquisition / data storage systems, various sensors, and data pipelines.
- In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to architect and implement a state-of-the-art software platform to serve as the cornerstone of space systems observability, testing support, and cybersecurity.
- Develop, test, and deploy essential applications including an integrated monitoring system to track performance and analytics within space system data and telemetry, APIs, and high-throughput data pipelines.
- Work with a friendly and motivated team to design and develop sophisticated, highly scalable, and latency-optimized software for the Rebel Space platform.
- Operate across multiple layers of the stack to develop tools for the analysis and testing of complex systems deployed at test and customer facilities.
- Design reliable software through requirements generation, continuous integration, automated testing, issue tracking, and code reviews.
- Mentor and guide a team of engineers, promoting a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
