Position Overview:
As a Transportation Spotter, you will play a critical role in supporting the movement of rail vehicles throughout our facility. You will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of transportation equipment and coordinating with other spotters and equipment operators.
What you will be doing:
Support all rail vehicle movement throughout the facility.
Walk with transportation equipment and watch for clearance around obstacles.
Communicate effectively with other spotters and equipment operators via radio.
Prepare transportation equipment to transport rail vehicles.
Load rail vehicles onto flat cars or tractor trailers following established procedures.
Secure rail vehicles using special tie-down methods and materials.
Perform visual inspections and quality checks.
Support special activities as directed by the lead person.
Perform production standard operations and housekeeping duties based on sketches and verbal instructions.
Utilize hand and power shop tools.
Have a general mechanical background.
Ability to read blueprints and safely use hand and power tools.
Clear communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
Work effectively as a team member in group situations.
Work Environment:
The work environment for this role involves working near moving mechanical parts and being exposed to vibration. The noise level is usually moderate, and there may be exposure to outside weather conditions. Occasionally, work may involve high, precarious places, as well as exposure to dust, fumes, or airborne particles.

High school education, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Two years minimum experience groundwork in equipment operations.
Experience in all form of rigging and tie downs.

The hourly rate range for this position is $19.27-$26.01 per hour plus 10% shift differential for 2nd shift and 20% for 3rd shift. The role is eligible for overtime for certain work schedules. The salary may be higher or lower depending on your experience and skills.
