Job description

The State of Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) Prevention and Health Promotion Division within the Office of the Commissioner, is currently seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Special Investigator (General) for the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) State Tobacco Compliance Check Inspection Program (STCCIP). The individual in this role will be responsible for assisting the agency's need to meet federal requirements for tobacco and electronic nicotine delivery systems compliance inspections.

The Role:

The Special Investigator will perform daily compliance tobacco inspections statewide and related activities to identify retailers who are non-compliant with Federal tobacco laws. This position provides direct field oversight while safely transporting the Youth/Investigative Aides that assist them in the inspection of retail establishments in various geographic areas of the state.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL EXPERIENCE

Five (5) years of investigatory experience in health care, insurance claims, law enforcement or a regulatory field.
