Job description
Principal Accountabilities:
Organizes team to complete work as assigned during the shift
Evaluates team members performance and identifies areas for growth
Identifies areas where additional education and training are needed and works with team members to accomplish goals
Prepares patient for examination, performs vascular ultrasound procedures, and directly observes the and monitors the patient during the entire process.
Explains the procedure in easy-to-understand terms based on professional knowledge to relieve patients of pre-testing anxiety.
Sets-up equipment to administer procedures in a timely fashion.
Ensures that proper views and images have been obtained, appropriate techniques have been employed, and determines the need for more extensive evaluations beyond preliminary instructions.
Correlates clinical history to ascertain that the appropriate procedure is performed.
Maintains records and logs exams performed.
Maintains control of inventory and purchases of supplies for the assigned area.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required:
1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Graduate of an accredited medical sonography program International (CCI).
3. Experience documented by institutional referral with a minimum of 200 cases in echocardiography or relevant area.
4. Experience working with pertinent medical/surgical disease and knowledge of anatomy, physiology, physics, and diagnostic ultrasound.
5. Registration in a specific medical sonography specialty
6. Leadership or Clinical Education Experience
Preferred:
1. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from American Heart Association (AHA).
