Summary:
IDOC is recruiting for an Automated Systems Manager in our IT Department. The incumbent will be responsible to supervise the newly created Business Engagement team in IT. They will be responsible to develop the goals, objectives and vision for this new team. They will develop a process for building strong relationships with our business partners and documenting business IT roadmaps with each area. They will document processes to ensure our systems are supporting the business and will track changes needed to the systems.
Responsibilities:
- Hire, train, and direct staff.
- Develop standards and best practices.
- Monitor performance & provide feedback.
- Create Business Engagement goals and objectives for new Business Engagement team.
- Educate business partners on expectations and hold regular meetings to communicate updates & build relationships.
- Gather current & future business IT needs and build business IT roadmaps.
- Create & manage process for vetting & prioritizing change requests.
- Monitor contracts for major business applications.
- Participate in creation/review of RFPs & ITNs for technology purchases.
- Assist with application implementations & version upgrades, including testing.
- Develop & maintain application portfolio.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Good knowledge of management practices. Typically gained by completion of two three credit or equivalent upper division college-level courses that included all the essential elements of management (Planning, Organizing, Leading, and Controlling); OR successful completion college/university sponsored leadership/management program or equivalent AND six months of experience performing all management elements; OR one year of experience performing all management elements.
- Some knowledge of project management practices. Typically gained by successful completion of a semester long college-level course or completion of approximately 40 hours of training related to project management; OR approximately one year of experience participating in all aspects of project management.
- Experience analyzing the capabilities and operation of an automated system including hardware and software to modify systems design Typically gained by at least one year of experience as a business analyst, project lead, project manager, or similar role on an automated systems project.
- Experience applying state and federal laws and regulations to specific program areas Typically gained by one year of experience equivalent to a program specialist developing policies and procedures based on applicable state and federal laws.
- Experience analyzing system output data and writing recommendations or related action for follow-up. Typically gained by at least one year of experience reviewing and analyzing the results of major programs and taking appropriate action, including written follow-up.
- Experience supervising staff. Typically gained by at least one year of experience where you were responsible for interviewing and selecting staff, providing work direction and training, evaluating performance, and generating employer problem solving solutions.
