Job description
Village Bank, based in Midlothian Virginia, is seeking a qualified candidate for the role of Loan Operations Specialist. This vital team member will support our Commercial and Consumer Loans team. This position is on our Loan Administration Team.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for Loan Post Closing Review.
- Handling inquiries and maintenance on the loan accounts.
- Responsible for preparing documentation required to close Commercial and Consumer loans.
- Review and manage the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) to ensure accurate reporting.
- Complete loan post-closing system review.
- Ensure correct upload of documents to our imaging system.
- Complete NextGen Document Transfer Quality Control.
- Loan Servicing duties include managing Escrow Accounts and Payments, preparing and filing UCC continuations successfully and timely, complete insurance monitoring by tracking and obtaining certificates from the borrower's agent.
- Respond to loan inquiries and questions directly with customers, bank staff and other firms.
- Request and collect loan requirements for closings.
- Gather underwriting requirements for closings.
- Coordinate closing activities with Commercial Relationship Mangers and Branch Managers.
- Follow up on outstanding closed loan items to insure a completed closed file and lien perfection.
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Minimum age 18 years.
- High School or equivalent diploma.
- 2 years of experience in a Loan Operations setting.
- 1 years' experience with the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act.
- Proficient in FISERV and Director applications preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent verbal, written and critical thinking skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent customer service skills to establish and maintain effective professional relationships.
- Familiarity with supporting loan documents (title policies, deeds of trust, deeds, insurance) and commercial requirements (EDR, SCC, USS's, Commercial Appraisals and Business Entity Organizational information).
- Understanding of Consumer Guidelines, including TRID, ECOA, HPML and others.
- Ability to pass a background and credit check per company policies, unless prohibited by federal, state, or local law.
