Basic Function

Technical and Reliability Manager will manage Technical, Reliability, and Capital, and will be responsible for executing work in a safe, reliable, cost efficient, and environmentally responsible manner to achieve safety, production, quality, and budget goals. You will participate on the Jackson Site Leadership Team to develop the site strategic plan, annual goals, drive gap closure efforts, and ensure alignment of all plant activities with global manufacturing and the company strategic plan. You will participate on corporate teams to help champion and implement corporate level strategic initiatives and goals. This position reports to the Jackson Site Manager and is part of the USCAN APS division of the Global APS business unit


The Technical Manager directs, coordinates, and executes safe, cost-effective and environmentally sound process and production support for the plant. The incumbent is responsible for the following general activities that may be performed under their direction or indirect supervision: tactical and strategic technical support to JKO PPC production, control system development, develop and own strategic 5-year asset plan drives gap closure in process safety, environmental performance, operational performance, capacity utilization, reliability performance, product quality, variable & routine cost performance.

The Reliability Manager is responsible for the overall site reliability which is a critical assets to the company's financial success. They will establish long range plans for equipment reliability and organizational structure to reach long-term goals. The position will also coordinate daily activities for reliability functions associated with engineering and technical support. The role combines a manufacturing management function with forward looking objectives to improve overall site performance with a focus on equipment integrity and proactive reliability plan.


The Capital Project Manager will manage capital projects that are targeted for site improvements. This position will have the overall responsibility for the successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of projects on the sites current and long-range plans. The incumbent will manage and mitigate project risk through the use of corporate processes, namely the Project Management Process workflow. The position is responsible to develop and assure a strategic long range plan that drives the site forward and aligns with the overall business plan. #LI-RH1

Roles & Responsibilities
• Deliver GoalZERO performance through strong leadership, personnel involvement and management systems
• Implement and adherence to corporate standards and assess gaps and opportunities
• Drives Process Safety performance utilizing Engineering Discipline, PHA, MOC, and other corporate tools
• Lead Reliability Improvement Team which identifies, prioritize, and resolves leveraging production/reliability issues
• Assure planning support for major machinery overhauls, equipment replacement, specifying scope of required work and technical details to ensure successful execution
• Assist in the preparation and management of budgets in a cost efficient and responsible way to meet site goals
• Participate actively with the business team to create, plan, organize and execute short and long range objectives to ensure continued site and business alignment, efficiency, and effectiveness
• Lead, direct, and coach organization members in achieving business results and continuous improvement
• Set clear performance expectations, coach, and mentor direct reports
• Interfaces with a diverse group of domestic customers including manufacturing, project management, purchasing and business functions on technical and reliability initiatives and projects
• Engage with directs and other site support staff to acquire, develop, and retain top talent
• Provide overall guidance for long range programs defining strategic direction, incremental production, mechanical integrity, and GoalZERO performance; develop and maintain Jackson Long-Range Capital plan
• Enhance and administer a consistent system of measurement geared towards improving the effectiveness of production and reliability; develop, improve, and communicate Key Performance Indicators (KPI's)
• Supporting the plant efforts in meeting the Operational Excellence requirement for the areas managed
• Ensure Code of Conduct and all other LyondellBasell policies are consistently followed and administered
• Lead efforts to build a strong LyondellBasell brand through community service

Min. Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
• Ten years of experience in manufacturing and previous supervisory and/or management experience is desired
• Knowledge of company policies, plant operating, maintenance procedures, planning/scheduling, equipment reliability, SAP, health, safety, and environmental requirements
• Knowledge of quality processes; ISO9001 / IATF16949
• Knowledge of purchasing, laboratory functions, marketing, and human resources
• Knowledge of manufacturing accounting practices; knowledge of budgeting process
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to interface with all organizational levels within the company
