Forks Education Center of the Greater Valley YMCA is looking to hire a Childcare Food Service Manager.

Childcare Food Service Manager Salary : $13 - $15 per hour

Childcare Food Service Manager Hours : Monday through Friday 8:00AM to 1:30PM (Part Time)

Childcare Food Service Manager Responsibilities :

• Assist in the daily operations of food service
• Prepare and cook food as the menu indicates
• Set up food, supplies, and utensils for meal service
• Store food and leftovers at proper temperature with appropriate labeling
• Assist in routine sanitation of the kitchen and related equipment
• Clean and maintain all food preparation and storage areas
• Supervise the cleaning of prep, serving, and dining dishes
• Reduce waste, reuse items, and recycle as indicated through the facility's procedures
• Maintain inventory counts of products
• Maintain organization of freezers and refrigerators
• Work as a member of the childcare team
• Check with a Childcare Director regarding any food allergies and or dietary needs

Childcare Food Service Manager Qualifications :

• At least one year of work experience as a cook preferred
• Possess or obtain current food service certification
• Experience in using cutting tools, cookware, and bakeware
• Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
• Knowledge of the rules/guidelines related to kitchen rules/safety
• Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
• Desire and ability to work with children
• Ability to work in a team
• Very good communication skills
• Excellent physical condition and stamina
• Track record of building relationships with staff, volunteers, and parents.
• Annual CACFP Training
• Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred, but not required
