Instructor – Department of Biophysics, Jaqaman Lab
The Jaqaman lab is currently recruiting for the position of Instructor, Research Track, Nontenured. The successful candidate will conduct research to answer questions related to the regulation of cell surface receptors by the adjacent actin cortex. The successful candidate will grow and manipulate mammalian cells in tissue culture, use a light microscope to image the cells, and apply software to analyze the acquired images and derive quantitative relationships between cell surface receptor behavior and the actin cortex. Further, the successful candidate will prepare presentations about the work and write manuscripts to publish work, as well as mentor junior graduate students and other research interns when their research projects intersect with theirs.
The candidate must have, at a minimum, a Ph.D. in Biophysics or Biotechnology or a related field with five years of post-PhD research experience.
Consideration may be given to applicants seeking less than a full-time schedule. Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience.
This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code 51.215, which authorizes UT Southwestern to obtain criminal history record information.
