Job description

Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) is seeking a Principal Field Safety & Health Specialist to be based in our Aiken, SC location on the Savannah River Site (SRS).

The Principal Field Safety & Health Specialist monitors, analyzes, and investigates workplace activities and potential hazards to support company initiatives within assigned area or facility(s) through review of work packages, assessments, walk downs, inspections, and/or observations. Identifies hazardous workplace conditions and removes hazards and/or protects employees by guarding, revising work procedures, and training or requiring use of protective clothing and personal protective equipment. Responsible for identifying and mitigating hazardous conditions that affect workers, property, the environment, and the general public. Takes effective steps to ensure that workplace conditions comply with applicable federal, state, local and organization occupational safety and health standards, ensuring that all required records are prepared and maintained. Prepares and delivers reports and inputs information into database applications as required. Preferred Qualifications for a Principal Field Safety & Health Specialist: 

Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC), a prime contractor for the US Department of Energy, is responsible for managing the Department of Energy’s Savannah River Site’s Liquid Waste operations contract. Located in Aiken, South Carolina, SRMC is a limited liability company formed by nuclear operations and environmental remediation global leaders BWXT, Amentum, and Fluor. The SRMC Team is responsible for the closure of waste tanks, the operation of the Savannah River Site’s Defense Waste Processing Facility, tank farm operations and associated production and disposal facilities.

Exceptions to this range/rate may be applied on a case-by-case basis taking into account aspects such as education, experience, and skill need of the organization.
