The Marketing Director position at Emporia State University plays a pivotal role in promoting the university's brand, overseeing marketing initiatives, and managing a variety of projects. This dynamic position requires a creative and detail-oriented professional who can develop and execute effective marketing strategies while simultaneously coordinating and overseeing multiple projects. The Marketing Director position is responsible for enhancing the university's visibility, reputation, and engagement with target audiences for the School of Science and Mathematics and the School of Visual and Performing Arts.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Marketing Strategy Development:
- Develop a deep working knowledge of all aspects of the School of Science and Mathematics and the School of Visual and Performing Arts. Actively execute key communication initiatives to advance marketing strategies aligned with university goals.
- Collaborate with Marketing + Communication team members and school Deans to develop and manage marketing strategies across programs including messaging, enrollment growth, promotion of events and initiatives to advance goals, objectives, and targets.
- Identify and recommend new ways to promote university offerings and increase engagement and use data to inform, adjust and evolve campaigns and deliverables. Positively and regularly collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to establish and/or support marketing objectives, complete tasks and identify and solve problems.
Project Management:
- Serve as the liaison with faculty and staff for marketing, communication, and enrollment initiatives to ensure timely and successful project completion.
- Define project scopes, goals, and deliverables.
- Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and mitigating potential roadblocks.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with school deans, meet monthly to determine needs, identify opportunities and report status on ongoing projects and enrollment.
- Maintain office within respective schools three days per week and two days per week in Marketing + Communication.
Content Creation and Management:
- Create and oversee the production of marketing materials, including brochures, videos, social media content, and more. Ensure school web presence is up to date, in alignment with web standards and style guide and develop web content in alignment with SEO objectives and guidelines.
Brand Management:
- Lead, manage, ensure adherence to, and flawless execution of, the ESU brand at every opportunity.
- In close partnership with school Deans, faculty and fellow Marketing + Communication team members, identify opportunities to raise the profile of ESU by capturing, promoting and earning media coverage through faculty and student stories, key events, initiatives and activities.
Event Promotion:
- Plan and execute marketing campaigns to promote university events, including conferences, seminars, campus visits and tours and scholarship signings.
- Collaborate with event organizers to ensure successful event marketing.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications Required:
- Master’s degree in communication, marketing or related field plus at least 3 years of experience
COMPENSATION:
- Salary: $56,755 -$62,000 annually based on experience or additional qualifications.
