Job description

Position Title: Programs Director

Location: Anaheim, CA. Our team currently operates on a hybrid schedule, with three days in-office and two days remote. Some travel within the Greater Los Angeles Area is required (vehicle and driver's license necessary).

Term: Full-time, occasional evenings and weekends may be required.

Position Status: Exempt

Salary Range: $110,000 - $140,000 annually, based on skills and experience.

Reports to: Executive Director

Position Summary: We are seeking an enthusiastic and seasoned individual to join our team as the Programs Director. This senior leadership role will oversee our Special Projects and Programs team, playing a crucial part in advancing our mission and promoting the civil rights and well-being of the American-Muslim community in the Greater Los Angeles Area. The ideal candidate will provide strategic guidance, managerial oversight in fundraising, and effective coordination to ensure the success of our organization's initiatives.

Responsibilities:

Leadership and Management:

Provide strategic direction and leadership for the Special Projects and Programs team.
Guide the work of department directors and managers to ensure alignment with our mission and goals.
Oversee and support the development of all institutional fundraising initiatives and contracts with government and philanthropic partners.
Develop and implement comprehensive work plans, objectives, and performance metrics for programs.
Assist in the hiring process, budget development, and fundraising initiatives.
Represent our organization at conferences, events, meetings, and other gatherings.

Special Projects:

Cultivate strategic partnerships and collaborations to enhance funding and resources for special projects.
Ensure successful planning, capacity building, implementation, and evaluation of projects, adhering to strategic goals and timelines.
Direct and develop special projects, including community engagement initiatives, campaigns, reports, research endeavors, and collaborative efforts.
Supervise the grant writing team and oversee financial aspects of grants and contracts.

Programs:

Support the effective functioning of our programs, ensuring high-quality service delivery and impactful outcomes.
Provide guidance to programs managers in developing, implementing, and evaluating program activities.
Support fundraising, resource allocation, and budget management to meet community needs and program deliverables.
Maintain strategic relationships with government officials, funders, and key community stakeholders.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (advanced degree preferred).
7-10 years of experience in program management, advocacy, or related fields.
Minimum five years of experience managing a team in the nonprofit, government, legal, or related sector.
Proven leadership and management skills with the ability to mentor a diverse team.
Strong knowledge of civil rights issues, particularly those affecting the American-Muslim community.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking and media engagement.
Experience in managing digital and print content creation, including basic understanding of graphic design and publishing.
Familiarity with social media platforms and marketing.
Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, project management, and budget oversight.
Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Passion for social justice, civil liberties, and inclusivity.
Proficiency in digital communication tools and content management systems.
Knowledge of relevant applications such as SharePoint, Office365, OneDrive, and case management software preferred.
Access to reliable transportation for meetings and events in various Southern California cities.

Compensation:

Salary range: $110,000 - $140,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
Fully paid Kaiser Health Insurance and Blue Cross PPO Dental Plan for employee and dependents.
3% retirement matching contribution.
10 paid holidays, 10 sick days, and 12 vacation days.
