Position Summary/Description:

The Change Manager facilitates change management strategies to prepare faculty, staff, and students for technical changes initiated by the School of Medicine IT department. Working with Project Managers, stakeholders, sponsors, leadership and technical team members the Change Manager:

• Performs analysis to understand the current state and future changes an IT initiative will introduce.
• Identifies and prepares the stakeholders of upcoming changes and determines how they will be affected.
• Applies change management techniques, processes, and tools to projects, including developing a change management strategy and associated plans
• Supports work on communications and depending on the makeup of the team, may design and deliver communications campaigns.
• Provides input to training strategies and supports the design and delivery of training.
• Uses project management methods to keep change initiatives on track and keep change sponsors informed.

The Change Manager brings extensive knowledge of change management techniques and concepts (including communications, training, and process analysis) and is always learning more. They enable stakeholders to ensure changes are adopted smoothly and to help initiatives realize their intended benefits.

Education and Experience:

• Experience designing strategies for and leading change management initiatives.
• Change management certification such as CCMP or Prosci.
• Experience supporting or leading large-scale organizational technical change initiatives.
• Experience in a higher education, medical campus, and/or healthcare setting
• Experience sharing knowledge of the change management profession with others.
• Familiarity with project management approaches, tools, and phases of the project lifecycle.
• Familiarity with concepts, tools and techniques related to one or more of these fields: training, communications, process analysis, documentation development.
