Equipment Operator Job Summary:
Equipment Operators operate construction, excavation, hauling, and maintenance equipment including backhoes, front-end loaders, bulldozers, excavators, or grade tractors. Uses excavating machinery to dig holes and trenches in and around underground utility lines.
Equipment Operator Responsibilities:
Inspect large equipment before and after use to ensure they are working properly
Load and unload cargo and move them to the appropriate storage area
Follow all safety procedures while operating equipment
Perform regular maintenance and minor repairs when necessary
Report needs for larger repairs to the appropriate parties
Equipment Operator Requirements:
Class A CDL license required.
Knowledge of transmission and operation of telecommunications systems.
Ability to work overtime, depending on project goals.
Prefer 1-2 years in utility construction industry operating equipment utilized in overhead and underground construction with experience operating backhoes, excavators, skid steers in and around underground utility lines.
Safety certifications are a plus; some safety certification training provided.
Must be willing to travel
