Job description
Machine Operator/Jr Machinist: (Will be guided/trained to accomplish the follow tasks) Job description: ( We need a production machine operator to primarily be a saw operator. We will consider training the right person but must show willingness to learn, are dependable and have mechanical aptitude. Will also be operating other machine shop/production floor machines and doing various duties as assigned. As you progress and learn, you may also learn the following: Following drawings / work Instructions, machine parts to specifications using lathes, milling machines, grinders, etc. Ensure parts are manufactured to stated requirements, including necessary quality inspection. Ensure proper setup of machines to minimize discrepant parts. Responsible for the quality of product being manufactured against drawing. Measure, examine under a microscope, and test completed parts in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers, calipers, gauge pins. Complete records / quality documentation and sign off. Cross train on several machine types as required . Skill development of self and fellow team members. Support Lean Manufacturing Initiatives to enhance Continuous Improvement. Inspect equipment and perform basic machine maintenance. Required: HS diploma or GED. Basic math and reading skills. Must be able to read understand and follow work instructions in English. Assembly experience is a plus. Minimum 2 years working in a manufacturing environment/machine shop. Demonstrate ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees and customers. Maintain professional internal and external relationships that meet company core values. Proactively establish and maintain effective working team relationships with all departments. Read measuring tape, gauges, and calipers. Experience with power tools and/or industrial machinery. Ability to utilize inspection equipment. Will learn proficiency with heavy machinery including lathe, drill press, grinding wheel, chop saw and mill. Ability to learn sequence or edit programs on lathe and vertical milling machines. Ability to utilize inspection equipment. Must be able to lift and move up to 20 lbs.
