Job description
LaSalle Network has partnered with an IT solutions company that is focused on creating digital transformation for their clientele. They are seeking a Remote QReplication Db2 Logical Database Admin to join their team. This is a contract opportunity, and we can support W2, 1099, or C2C.
Remote QReplication Db2 Logical Database Admin Responsibilities:
Handle all aspects of QREP, including starting, stopping, creating, dropping, or altering MQueues, subscriptions, publications and QMAPS
Focus on the development, support and customization of new services and support efforts
Collaborate with vendors to resolve database replication problems in a timely manner
Fulfill client requests and change orders for mainframe z/OS clients related to Q Replication
Provide primary support for reported client QREP issues
Maintain 24/7 support across multiple time zones and participate in on-call responsibilities
Assist project manager in migrating newly acquired clients, ensuring technical obstacles are addressed promptly
Work with the Disaster Recovery Services team to successfully execute tasks related to client disaster recovery plans
Adhere to ITSM change control procedures
Remote QReplication Db2 Logical Database Admin Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
10 years of experience in QREP DB2 administration and application support
Extensive experience with administering and supporting databases on Mainframe DB2 and LUW DB2
Ability to support multiple DB2 subsystems simultaneously
Experience with replication setup, maintenance and troubleshooting
Capability to fulfill client and internal requests for building DB2 objects of all types
Familiarity with analyzing new versions of DB2 for potential system improvements
Knowledge of refreshing test data and supporting DB2 security requests
Ability to review DB2 security for potential risks
Experience with reorganizing application data and consulting with vendors for problems and questions
Strong skills in space calculations for new objects and environments, reviewing and tuning DB2 buffer pools and SQL code, and performing DR recovery of application objects
Proficiency in solving issues related to MQ subscriptions, capture and apply processes
