Prescription & Insurance Monitoring
- Assists pharmacist on duty as primary responsibility. Performs all duties requested by the pharmacist.
- Performs minor calculations and drug pricing.
- Enters data accurately and efficiently from new prescriptions sent via electronic prescribing, fax, and handwritten or transferred prescriptions.
- Resolves insurance rejections as needed to ensure appropriate billing of prescriptions
- Communicates effectively with nursing staff regarding prior authorizations and quantity limit overrides
- Answers phone calls prioritizing customer service and assisting customers appropriately
- Assists clients with delivery confirmation and prepares daily list to send to courier
- Completes file maintenance on clients and refills prescriptions on order entry, as instructed.
- Dispenses completed prescriptions under the pharmacist's supervision ensuring correct drug is filled and appropriate quantity is dispensed
- Determine type of patient in regards to DMH or Insurance.
- Notifies pharmacist on all drug utilization reviews.
- Will send all DMH clients to PAP for further assistance with information.
- Will enter all appropriate insurance information on all patients who have either Medicaid, Medicare D. or private insurance
- When appropriate, will pull medications from shelves for prescriptions to be filled.
- Fill out appropriate paperwork for obtaining prior authorization.
- When available will process manufacturers coupons or vouchers.
- Will enter all Co-Pact prescriptions into computer and separate into 4 categories, daily, weekly, bi-monthly, and monthly. Will run charge tickets for all Co-Pact prescriptions.
- Other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Inventory Control
- Restocks the pharmacy shelves with supplies, drugs, etc., as needed.
- Will process orders in computer for ordering of medications and supplies when necessary.
- Return those prescriptions to stock that are not picked up by clients.
- Processes returns, outdated items according to established procedures.
Pharmacy Regulatory Tasks
Develops a current knowledge of pharmacy policies and procedures and supports them.
- Completes assigned training willingly and in a timely manner
- Binds and separates hard copies of prescriptions into three separate "books" of 100 - Schedule II, Schedule III, IV and V and non-Schedule.
Customer Service
- Engages clients at pharmacy intake in a welcoming, friendly manner
- Maintains good rapport with co-workers, patient care personnel, clients and others to ensure a smooth running pharmacy.
- Maintains strict cleanliness standards.
- Checks and processes all voice mail prescriptions once every hour.
- When placing filled prescriptions in bags or sacks for pick-up verify patients name on each prescription bottle label to name on prescription receipt.
- Assists with client questions and concerns
- Helps troubleshoot insurance issues
- Uses professional judgement to determine when to involve pharmacists and other supervisors in a de-escalation situation

You will be working in an innovative and dynamic environment using a new transformative model of care Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC). This model is characterized by innovative, team-based approach and whole person care for adults and children with a range of complex mental health and substance use challenges.
Utilizing multi-disciplinary teams, staff work collaboratively to provide a coordinated effort to enhance client recovery. Robust CCBHC services often result in better client outcomes and quality of care due to:
- Increased access to care and crisis services
- Expanded traditional community mental health and substance use services.
- Added Care Coordination and physical health screening for mental health clients
- Greater access to Social Services for clients' economic and social needs
- Increased specialized services for veterans, those most in need, and those impacted by the opioid crisis.
