Summary: The Marketing Representative participates in the implementation of the marketing strategies developed for the Recruiting Programs department. They will have a direct impact in maximizing the potential of NRA Recruiting programs via membership sales. Marketing responsibilities will include expanding current recruiting efforts by recognizing new opportunities, prospecting for new recruiters, making recommendations for action and tracking results within the assigned region. The successful candidate will maintain an acute awareness of the state of the program and its top recruiters to ensure the effectiveness of current efforts. They will proactively communicate with recruiters to further increase membership recruitment.

Overview of Responsibilities:
• Ensure the long term growth of assigned regions, as measured in membership sales, through implementation of sales and marketing strategies
• Identify new opportunities for membership recruitment including prospecting for new recruiters, reenergizing inactive recruiters and designing promotions to drive membership sales
• Work with other departments to acquire new recruiters who are already involved with NRA
• Respond to inbound inquiries from existing recruiters regarding NRA membership recruitment
• Follow up with new recruiters to verify arrival and understanding of materials and the recruiting process and provide guidance to maximize their sales effort
• Build relationships with top recruiters to further increase and ensure their effectiveness
• Gather recruiter feedback and make suggestions to improve the overall program
• Develop and write articles for the Recruiter Newsletter and weekly E-Cruiter
• Assist department by representing the association at shows and special events when necessary
• Perform other duties as assigned

Scope: Extensive contact with NRA staff, recruiters, members, and the general public.

.Education and Experience: B.S. in Marketing or related field plus at least 2 years sales/marketing experience. Retail or consumer sales experience preferred. Customer service experience is helpful. A working knowledge of Microsoft Office is required. Familiarity with firearms and the sporting/firearms industry is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Knowledge, awareness, and support of NRA and its position in regard to the Second Amendment and firearms related issues. Proven ability to exercise considerable initiative, judgment and discretion is essential. Must have knowledge of various sales and marketing techniques. The successful candidate will have the ability to keep organized records, analyze and track results and recommend further action. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Must be service oriented with a pleasant phone voice, have a strong command of the English language and excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be available for overnight and/or extended travel as requested. Must possess exceptional time management skills, including meeting strict deadlines. The ability to multi-task is essential. Graphic design experience a plus (Photoshop, Dreamweaver)
