Job description
We are seeking a Senior IT Strategist to assist in evolving networks and systems to support current and future needs. This individual will collect and analyze needs, wants and desires working closely with customer leadership to research, develop and implement solutions. Needs to have a technical background and has filled a role that required the formulation of IT strategies. The Senior IT Strategist shall coordinate the architecture work with the Government and shall maintain and enhance architecture plans and procedures for Government-sponsored programs. The IT Strategist shall lead the development of enterprise and project architecture artifacts.
GENERAL DUTIES:
- Determine short, intermediate and long-term technology requirements and develop acquisition, implementation and maintenance strategies and tactics to close technological and service gaps.
- Advise customer senior leadership regarding key information technology trends, technologies, risks, and significant issues that may create opportunities for (or risks to) the organization’s ability to deliver on objectives.
- Collaborate across division portfolios and business operations providing business process analysis and identify IT areas of opportunity and improvement
- Identify and advise on suitable technologies to streamline all internal operations and help optimize strategic benefits.
- Evaluate organizational structures, business processes, resource requirements, performance measures and evaluation criteria.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 10+ years of experience managing and planning for DoD IT networks or systems in an enterprise environment.
- Experience with providing technology and process consultation for organizations with thousands of endpoints.
- Experience in design and development of system architecture to include interface models, system behavior models (including use case and sequence diagrams), network diagrams, data flow models, and traceability of requirements and standards to enterprise architecture models.
- Experience generating various documents, including CONOPS, design documents, diagrams, and other related customer deliverables.
- Experience in systems engineering requirements and concept development, systems hardware and software design and development, and system integration.
- Experience working with multiple teams and ability to interface with technical and non-technical stakeholders at various levels within and outside of the organization to bring together the solution.
- Ability to apply models to support decision-making.
- Experience with financial forecasting and planning.
- Strong project management skills.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- B.S. or M.S. in Information Systems Technology, Computer Science, or related field
- 5+ years of experience with Technical Leadership.
- Large enterprise environment experience preferred
- Knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in managing help desk, network troubleshooting, and support, as well as active directory enterprise, network management software and tool suites.
- Experience with the MS Office 365 suite of tools (Teams, Planner, Outlook).
- Experience drafting job descriptions, interviewing and vetting candidates to include executing on-boarding processes.
- Experience managing and tracking project tasks and performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short-term and long-term goals.
- Experience in developing processes and procedures to increase efficiency and productivity.
- Experience establishing and facilitating agile project management techniques.
- Ability to identify and support the test and integration activities required to verify and validate the system against requirements and needs.
- Knowledge of other SE disciplines, including configuration management, risk management, Cybersecurity, system safety, and certification processes.
- Thorough understanding of systems thinking approach to architecture design.
- Ability to create leading-edge principles, theories, and concepts; contribute to the development of new principles and concepts.
- Ability to operate with substantial latitude for unreviewed action or decision.
