Job Description:

• United Health System is seeking a highly qualified FLEX POOL Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team in Hilo, HI. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the health and well-being of employees within various occupational settings. Responsibilities:

Responsibilities of a Flex Pool RN:

1. Clinical Care: Provide direct patient care according to the unit's needs and the nurse's scope of practice. This may include assessments, medication administration, wound care, IV therapy, patient education, and other nursing interventions.
2. Flexibility: Adapt quickly to different units or departments within the hospital based on staffing needs. Flex pool RNs may be required to work in medical-surgical units, critical care units, emergency departments, labor and delivery, psychiatric units, or other specialty areas as needed.
3. Patient Advocacy: Advocate for patients' needs and rights, ensuring they receive safe, high-quality care regardless of the unit or department they are assigned to. Communicate effectively with patients and their families, addressing any concerns and providing emotional support.
4. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with healthcare team members, including physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nursing assistants, and other interdisciplinary team members, to coordinate patient care and ensure positive outcomes.
5. Adherence to Policies and Procedures: Follow hospital policies, procedures, and protocols related to patient care, safety, infection control, documentation, and regulatory requirements.
6. Clinical Competency: Maintain clinical competency and proficiency in nursing skills across various specialties to provide competent care in different clinical settings.

Qualifications:

1. Registered Nurse License: Hold an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Hawaii.
2. Education: Graduated from an accredited nursing program (Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)).
3. Experience: Previous nursing experience in acute care settings is typically required. Certifications: Maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications. Additional certifications may be required based on the clinical areas floated to.
