What You’ll Do

Simplisafe is seeking a self-starting, dependable, customer-oriented, strong to join our Permits team. This role can be based out of either Boston, MA or Richmond, VA. Permit Coordinators play a critical role at SimpliSafe, ensuring SimpliSafe customers in high-risk municipalities successfully obtain alarm permits in a timely fashion. The Permit Coordinator role requires a high level of attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and strong relationship-building skills. Primary responsibilities include: 

• Manage and own responsibility for your assigned municipalities. You are responsible for ensuring registration through physical mail as well as email, false alarm fines, and handling various letters
• Bill customers for licensing fees and false alarm fines through SimpliSafe’s customer platform 
• Communicate directly with alarm administrators as well as customers via call and email to ensure that the permitting process is progressing and SimpliSafe is adhering to alarm ordinance requirements
• Investigate, research, and cross-reference permitting requirements for new and updated municipalities
• Apply project management, time management and organizational skills to a variety of tasks and your daily functions using Google Suites, Monday.com, and SimpliSafe’s contact center software 

What You’ll Bring

• Strong time-management skills and calendar management skills
• Strong relationship management skills; must feel comfortable to own relationships with SimpliSafe customers and the municipalities we partner with
• Must feel comfortable to own relationships with SimpliSafe customers and the municipalities we partner with
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel & Google Suites (Gmail, Sheets, Docs, Drive)
• Exemplary organizational skills, particularly in digital information management and digital account management
• Clear, effective email communication skills
• Experience working with city and local government agencies a plus
• Familiar with navigating virtual communication mediums such as Zoom or Google Meet
• A history of researching and validating credible sources of information is a plus

Must be eligible for certification as an electronic security employee, which requires submitting your fingerprints to the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) for use in conducting a national criminal records search and a Virginia criminal history search and final certification approval from DCJS.
