Job description
The Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center is seeking a SCTCT Program Coordinator to collect, review and enter patient data for the Stem Cell Transplant and Cellular Therapy Program (SCTCT) of the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center (HCCC) into an electronic database; and to submit data to the Center for International Blood & Marrow Transplant Research (CISCTCTR). Review/Analyze financial data, contracts, assist with pulling data for budget preparation.
This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement of both on-campus (UIHC) and remote work within the state of Iowa upon completion of a training period, with the majority of work taking place on the U of I/UIHC campus. Per policy, work arrangements will be reviewed annually, and must comply with the remote work program and related policies and employee travel policy when working at a remote location.
Duties to include:
- Assures compliance with data reporting and quality management standards as dictated by FACT and other external reporting agencies.
- Abstracts and enters data into the SCTCT program database; reports to the Center for International Stem Cell Transplant and Cellular Therapy Research (CISCTCTR) all required data for SCTCT patients through the review of electronic medical records from information provided by clinical and program staff and from external sources within required timeframes.
- Reviews CISCTCTR requirements and provides recommendations on appropriate information to be tracked; educates staff and patient care personnel on NMDP/CISCTCTR reporting process, regulations and documentation requirements.
- Responds to requests for information, collecting and updating data for submission to program/agency databases, updating forms, and participating in educational offerings designed to assure compliance with program/agency policies, procedures and database standards.
- Perform quality assessment of collected data; review for accuracy and completeness, follow up when indicated.
- Participates in weekly SCTCT meetings; reviews documentation.
- Assists SCTCT program in obtaining and tracking specific medical information as needed.
- Reviews and updates data collection tools to assure compliance with changing medical standards and research needs through interaction with the SCTCT team.
- Perform quality management audits and data/financial analysis.
- Presents information on best practices or information sharing across institutions.
- Assists with Epic integration in concert with Epic software developers and Program management.
- Attends meetings and participates on committees as appropriate.
- Assists with all other duties assigned that support the Program.
- Serves as a liaison with faculty, staff and external organizations.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience managing and entering complex clinical information with attention to detail.
- Proficient in computer software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and various databases.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- 1-3 years of administrative experience is required.
- Excellent team player.
- Experience with Epic.
- Experience with financial and billing practices.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience in blood and marrow stem cell transplantation.
- Experience in clinical oncology.
- Knowledge of University of Iowa policies, procedures and regulations.
