Maintenance Technician II
Position Overview
The Maintenance Technician II is responsible for the maintenance / repair of electrical / mechanical equipment and various elements of the building systems and infrastructure as directed by the Sr. Facilities Manager.
What you’ll do at Insight
- Ability to analyze, diagnose, evaluate and recommend / perform repairs to building components & equipment
- Provide a safe and secure working environment for our teammates
- Prevent / Minimize any facilities related disruptions / inconveniences to the operation of the business units / building infrastructure
- Perform preventive and routine maintenance to equipment, systems and building components
- Perform furniture and modular workstation installations, configurations and relocations
- Performs a variety of tasks in an office and warehouse environment as directed by the Facility Sr. Mgr and/or Mgr. Manual dexterity to operate hand and power tools, operate equipment and machinery, work from ladders, scaffolding or platforms, working in various temperatures and conditions and lifting heavy objects
- Completes building projects and work requests as directed. Creates, maintains and distributes Time & Action Plans as directed by management
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents and plans
- Prepares monthly occupancy reports for facilities as directed by Management
- Provides space planning for facilities via Visio / AutoCad software
- Coordinate specific work repairs or activities with outside contractors / vendors as directed
- Maintains physical appearance of local facilities by performing such tasks as patching, painting, upgrading building components, etc.
- Diagnosis and emergency repair to HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, paging system, locks, machines, equipment, etc.
- General building maintenance
- Other departmental functions and projects as directed / required by management.
What you’ll need to join Insight
- Minimum high school graduate or general education degree (GED), trade school graduate preferred plus three to five years “hands on” experience in a commercial facility / physical plant operations.
- Certification or Associates Degree from an accredited college or university in the Facilities, Engineering, Architectural disciplines a plus.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret construction documents, technical procedures, or building code regulations.
- Ability to create and implement basic time / action plans.
- Knowledge of all building systems, including but not limited to electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, roofing, HVAC, hydraulic lifts / elevators, computer network cabling, furniture systems, standby generators, transfer switches and uninterruptible power supply units (UPS).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with modular furniture systems.
- Good math aptitude and reasoning / logic skills essential.
- Ability to create and revise space plans using computers and related software.
- Knowledgeable in the use of hand / power tools and machinery
- Familiarity with building / life safety codes and safe workplace practices.
- Computer literate with working knowledge Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Visio. Working knowledge of AutoCad a plus
- Excellent organizational, verbal & written communication skills

The base salary range for this position is typically $49,000 to $73,000 with additional bonus and benefits available. However, compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case, including experience and location, and we will also consider candidates outside of this range as necessary.
