Job description
Join the HJF Team!
The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. We serve military, medical, academic and government clients by administering, managing and supporting preeminent scientific programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians alike. Since its founding in 1983, HJF has served as a vital link between the military medical community and its federal and private partners. HJF's support and administrative capabilities allow military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their scientific focus and accomplish their research goals.
The M. Gordon Joyce laboratory, part of the Emerging Infectious Diseases Program, is seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant I to join the protein production team. The structure of viral proteins (COVID, MERS, Arena Viruses, etc.) and their interactions with antibodies is the focus of our research. The incumbent will be primarily responsible for the purification of proteins to be used in downstream studies. We are looking for an energetic individual who works well within a collaborative environment, is willing to learn, and has some experience with Microsoft Office. Potential for growth and inclusion in other projects is a possibility. Prior research experience is not necessary, though is a plus, as the incumbent will be trained in all necessary techniques.
