Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Role Description:
- Provides technical support and troubleshooting to front-line workforce.
- Supports Operations and Engineering with work relating to equipment and process performance.
- Works hands-on with manufacturing equipment and activities.
- Identifies and supports process improvements.
- Uses judgment, experience, and initiative to resolve problems and make recommendations.
Key Responsibilities :
- Supports production line on a daily basis to help deliver yields, throughput and product quality.
- Troubleshoot process and equipment issues with focus on meeting production targets.
- Production support for any throughput or safety items that may be hindering output.
- Resolution to ongoing chronic issues to implement robust controls solutions.
- Provide detailed documentation at the completion of projects.
- Accountable for monitoring area performance, identifying equipment and process issues, and following issues to closure.
- Simultaneously managing and troubleshooting multiple issues using technical standards to drive resolution.
- Preventive Maintenance and equipment upkeep efforts.
- Provide technical expertise to maintenance personnel in the repairs, maintenance, testing, installation, and debugging of equipment.
- Maintain the systems and actions necessary to ensure compliance with department certification programs, quality system audit program, and ISO14000 registration.
- Advocate a safe work environment and help enforce all housekeeping and safety regulations.

- Assures and helps enforce that all safety procedures (i.e., Lock out/Tag out, PPE, etc.) are followed at all times.
- Ability to follow troubleshooting checklist and document work.
Required:
- Electrical background/certifications
- Mechanically inclined, ability to use hand tools.
- Basic knowledge of PLC Control systems.
- Ability to handle/prioritize multiple tasks as necessary.
- Good written and verbal communication skills (detailed oriented).
Education/Experience:
- High School diploma or GED
- Electrical background is a plus

The range for this position is $22.00 hourly rate - $25.25 hourly rate. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
