Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provides effective leadership to the department.
- Responsible for oversight of the building maintenance team and/or third-party contractors.
- Manage responsibilities of inspecting, diagnosing, and testing of mechanical equipment, electrical equipment, and fire & life safety systems.
- Plans and coordinates all installations (telecommunications, heat, electricity etc.) and refurbishments.
- Manages the upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet regulatory, health and safety standards, including documented updates, issues and PM.
- Inspects buildings’ structures to determine the need for repairs or renovations.
- Assists in the management of construction projects and improvements to the building.
- Responsible for environmental monitoring process and system maintenance. Ensure environmental monitoring records are reviewed and within tolerance requirements.
- Responsible for applying safety precaution pertaining to: Safety regulations and procedures; chemical safety, hazard communication program; personal protective equipment; lifting procedures, back injury prevention; flammable storage, housekeeping; fire extinguisher training.
- Understand and responsible for power requirements for electrical systems (conductors, protective devices, physical protection). Reviews utilities consumption and strives to minimize costs.
- Must be proficient and have good working knowledge of fire detection, fire suppression system and all life safety systems
- Operate and maintain medium voltage emergence power systems. Including emergency generators, automatic transfer switches and medium voltage electrical distribution switch gear.
- Be willing to receive training and off-site factory certification in the systems you are tasked to maintain.
- Be responsible of documentation for Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) to include State and Local Fire Marshal compliance.
- Establishes and maintains a collaborative working relationship with Health System management by providing timely, accurate, and complete information and by answering questions and requests.
- Coordinates with appropriate P1 Management and Facilities Management for timely manpower resources.
- Provides timely, accurate, and complete information to the CFO.
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, the incumbent must have the following education, skills and abilities. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Education Experience: Bachelor’s degree (BS) in a construction related discipline, or 5-10 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred.
- Experience: 5-10 years minimum of supervisory work experience in planning, repairing, and maintaining fire alarm systems, switch gear, and emergency generators by following written operating procedures.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in facility operations or relevant position required. Experience in a hospital or surgical environment strongly preferred.
- Driving Requirements: Because the incumbent may receive an auto allowance, be reimbursed for mileage, or drive a company vehicle, they must meet the following driving requirements:
- Must be able to meet P1 Service qualifications to operate a vehicle on company business. Must be able to satisfactorily pass a motor vehicle record check. Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license.
- If driving a personal vehicle for business: Must have access to a well-maintained vehicle with an up-to-date registration with the local Department of Motor Vehicles. Both the incumbent and the vehicle must be currently covered on a personal insurance policy.
- Some Travel maybe required.
- Must be able to satisfactorily pass a criminal background check and drug screen.

- Computer Skills: The incumbent must be proficient in using email, database, internet, spreadsheet, and word processing applications: specifically, Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Windows).

- Mathematical Skills: The incumbent must be able to use general business and construction/engineering mathematics skills.
