Job description
As you gain experience and expertise, your responsibilities will expand accordingly. Depending on your strengths, your typical duties may encompass:
- Integrating, organizing, and scrutinizing vast volumes of data from diverse origins.
- Evaluating the integrity of historical and current data, identifying flaws, and suggesting remedies.
- Conducting ad-hoc exploratory statistical analyses across intricate datasets sourced from various structured and unstructured outlets.
- Developing and maintaining high-caliber code essential for the investment process.
- Investigating discernible patterns in asset returns, risks, trading costs, and other pertinent financial market data.
- Engaging in portfolio construction research using our simulation tools.
- Collaborating with software engineers to devise data feeds for new sources from third-party providers.
- Contributing to data architecture decisions to bolster the Research data platform.
Qualifications:
- Enrollment in or completion of an undergraduate or graduate program in finance, mathematics, economics, or a related field with a focus on quantitative and financial analysis.
- Demonstrated success in professional or academic settings (recent graduates are welcome).
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in probability, statistics, linear regression, time-series analysis, linear algebra, calculus, optimization, and portfolio theory.
- Familiarity with the application of statistics to economics, including econometrics or regression analysis.
- Experience using statistical computing tools such as Python, Stata, R, or MATLAB.
- Previous experience analyzing extensive datasets.
- Understanding of finance, encompassing equities and derivatives.
- Enthusiasm for financial markets.
- Exceptional communication skills, including proficiency in data visualization.
- High energy levels and a robust work ethic.
Plus, the following are advantageous:
- A solid grasp of empirical asset pricing within the academic realm.
- Familiarity with financial data products.
- Experience working with stock market datasets.
