What we need:
As the Chief Operating Officer (COO), your focus will be on striking a balance between ensuring strong business execution leading to extensive and sustainable growth while collaboratively evolving key aspects of the company’s strategy with the leadership team. You will work closely with the CEO, the Board, and the broader leadership team to optimize not only operations but also client service quality, efficiency, and depth of technical capabilities. Your role will involve managing a significant portion of the business, fostering cross-functional collaboration to drive growth, and being a culture champion. Excellent people skills, business acumen, technical depth, and exemplary work ethic are required to be successful in this role.
Role Responsibilities:
Oversee the span of operations across the entire company:
- Support the design of corporate strategy and goals and lead the execution of the mission and vision of the CEO. Maintaining the list of official priorities derived for operational view.
- Monitor operational handoff areas from end-to-end, identifying optimization opportunities and collaborating with leaders for continual improvement.
- Oversee resource management, including staffing and recruiting to optimize utilization.
- Lead mergers and acquisition integration into the consulting practice and geographic model.
- Identify and assess operational risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Build and lead a high-performing operations team, providing guidance, coaching, and mentorship.
- Establish policies, activities, reports, or metrics that promote company culture and vision.
Collaborate on company strategy and external brand positioning:
- Assist the CEO and executive team in updating the company’s strategic direction and defining the long-term goals.
- Develop and implement operational plans and initiatives to support the company’s overall strategy and future capability roadmap, including future mergers and acquisitions
- Monitor industry trends, market conditions, and technological advancements to identify opportunities and risks relevant to the strategic plan and goals.
- Work with the leadership and business development team to execute industry strategies, and identify key partnerships and relevant go-to-market opportunities that will accelerate growth.
- Participate in external-facing marketing, thought leadership and community events focused on building the brand of Fresh Consulting services in the market.
- Support relevant external alliances in pursuit of business growth, expanded consulting capabilities, and/or industry expertise for clients.
Oversee growth, drive for profitability and sustainability of regional offices and/or consulting practices as we grow:
- Participate in or lead geography and practice area team goals planning and execution.
- Design and implement operational business strategies, plans, and procedures in collaboration with Directors to ensure our practice areas are running smoothly.
- Oversee daily operations of consulting practices across the company by driving clarity and accountability, empowering and leading through organizational Directors to achieve KPIs and metrics, including utilization targets.
- Proactively drive improvements in resource management, project management, or delivery based on internal and external feedback.
- Lead, coach, and mentor direct reports to encourage maximum performance and dedication. Direct reports may evolve as we scale.
Oversee metrics and reporting for all operations of the company:
- Share weekly and monthly operational reports with the executives.
- Set comprehensive goals and metrics for performance and growth and evolve reporting towards automation and transparency.
- Establish operational metrics at every level of the organization, making them transparent and driving continuous improvement with a focus on client satisfaction and retention. Utilize metrics and KPIs to manage teams.
- Lead and collaborate with other executives on improving reporting rigor, tools, and automation across the entire company (project management, resource management, sales, project, and client tools).
- Evaluate performance by analyzing and interpreting data and metrics to offer insights to the executive team and key leadership.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, technology, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Proven experience as a COO or in a similar leadership role within the technology industry.
- Strong understanding of technology trends, engineering development processes, and operational best practices.
- Demonstrated success in developing and implementing operational strategies that drive growth and improve efficiency.
- Exceptional leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve results.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong business acumen and a strategic mindset.
- Proven track record in managing complex projects and delivering results within deadlines.

For a Washington State-Based Role:
The base salary hiring range for this position is $200k to $250k. Total compensation will include elements of company equity and performance bonuses. The full compensation package offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
