The Opportunity
As the Preschool Director, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the educational programs, managing staff, and creating an atmosphere that promotes the wholistic development of young minds. Southwest Coalition, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation focused on restoring reverence for the sanctity of human life and natural womanhood across the Southwest through a coalition of nonprofit social enterprises in line with Catholic and Biblical teaching, including our Guiding Star Southwest women’s medical centers, The Lily Pad Maternity Home, our Her Care Connection outreach and mobile medical bus, and Coalition for Life ministries.

Summary: In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring the well-being of children, overseeing daily activities, and fostering a positive atmosphere in alignment with our core values, Catholic, and Biblical teachings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure a safe and healthy environment for children, adhering to health and safety procedures and Texas state licensing regulations for Child Care centers.
- Supervise and actively engage with children, creating a nurturing learning environment through age-appropriate activities from drop-off to pick-up.
- Collaborate with the Director in planning daily activities and actively participate in them, ensuring they align with our organization's values.
- Maintain a developmentally appropriate room arrangement, with a weekly rotation of equipment.
- Manage various aspects of the child center, including scheduling, resources, and accurate attendance records.
- Effectively communicate with staff, parents, and external stakeholders on a daily basis.
- Provide lessons in line with Guiding Star Southwest's Core values, Catholic, and Biblical teachings.
- Assist in the training and professional development of staff, ensuring compliance with practices and regulations.
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions, remaining present in the preschool area during the shift.
- Maintain child and organizational confidentiality, organized files, and a clean workspace.
- Monitor emails, messaging apps, and Slack for important information and messages throughout the day.
- Follow company and preschool manual, policies, and procedures.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills.
- Prioritize tasks, delegate when needed, and adapt to a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace applications.
- Clean and disinfect the workspace daily, following health and well-being policies.
- Exhibit a positive attitude and support organizational operations as assigned by the Operations Seat.
- Perform duties as assigned
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Required bachelor's degree in early childhood education, child development, or a related field ( OR Child Development Associate Credential equivalent)
- Required to successfully pass and complete necessary background check(s)
- 2+ relevant experience in preschools, preschool education, or early learning centers (Preferred)
- Familiarity with Texas state licensing regulations for Child Care centers (Required)
- Driving: Valid driver's license and ability to drive to different properties for inspections, meetings, or emergency situations. (Required)
- Must undergo comprehensive background checks.
- Fluent english is required and Spanish speaking is preferred
- Ability to move through all program areas, interact with children and parents, and lift/carry items (>40 pounds) (Required)
- Must have reliable transportation and perform physical functions necessary for program instruction, including squatting, bending, and kneeling (Required)
