Job description

Purpose of Position : Under the supervision of the Parts Manager, the Parts Counter Salesperson is responsible for selling parts over the front counter and back counter.
Supervises : N/A
Essential Job Functions :
- Handles parts requirements of customer through counter service and telephone sales.
- Invoices and pulls parts correctly.
- Places parts in the appropriate area or customer pick-up delivery.
- Adds Service Department parts to Ro and issues to technician in a timely manner.
- Greets customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Advises the customer on any changes to orders such as substitutions or modifications.
- Assists in keeping parts area clean and shelves stocked and orderly.
- Assists in physical stock inventory.
Required Skills/ Abilities :
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customer, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Must have basic understanding of Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of Database software; Internet software and Inventory software.
Preferred Education :
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Preferred Experience :
- One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Other Preferred Qualifications :
- Parts knowledge for all Freightliner models.
