Job description
(Remote, Part-Time)
Experience working specifically with federal government IT software development contracts/contracting.
NexGen is currently seeking a Contracts Specialist to ensure our company's compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) clauses and other government regulations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for reviewing bids, identifying relevant FAR clauses, and developing and implementing processes to ensure ongoing compliance. This individual will be required to work closely with members of NexGen’s and client’s teams, including but not limited to domain experts, and technical leads.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Conduct thorough reviews of contract bids, identifying and interpreting applicable FAR clauses.
Advise on the implications of specific FAR clauses and how they impact contract bids and execution.
Develop, implement, and maintain processes and guidelines to ensure consistent compliance with FAR clauses and federal government regulations.
Stay updated on changes to federal regulations and guidelines, ensuring that our company adapts swiftly to new requirements.
Provide training and guidance to other team members on compliance matters and the application of FAR clauses in our contracting processes.
Prepare compliance reports and documentation for audits.
Other duties may be assigned.
Technical Skills:
Proven experience in contract management or a compliance role, with a strong focus on federal contracts and FAR clauses.
Experience working specifically with Federal Government IT software development contracts/contracting.
Experience working with SDLC (Software Development Lifecycle).
In-depth understanding of federal acquisition regulations and the ability to interpret and apply them effectively.
Desired Skills:
Certifications in contract management or government procurement are highly desirable.
Additional Requirements:
Strong, persuasive communication and presentation skills.
The successful candidate will be able to pass background screening prior to employment.
US Citizenship, or legal permanent residence, or US work authorization with minimum 3 years of continuous US presence is required due to federal contract requirements.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
