Dewberry, a growing A&E service company, is looking for a Senior Staff Accountant to join its Corporate Financial Services Group (FSG). The position will be based out of our Fairfax, Virginia office.

• Prepare journal entries, analysis, and account reconciliations and assist with monthly close processes.
• Help prepare financial statements by gathering and analyzing information.
• Prepare accruals, maintain schedules, including fixed asset and prepaid expense schedules.
• Respond to inquiries from the finance team leadership and company managers.
• Prepare BPOL tax filing and other compliance reporting.
• Support various audit activities such as review costs; prepare schedules required for audits.
• Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
• Other accounting assignment as needed.
• Protect the organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
• Continuously monitor processes and help identify and understand challenges and propose creative solutions.

• Associate's degree in accounting, bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred.
• 6 years of experience in general staff accounting.
• Superior attention to detail and ability to successfully manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining a view of the big picture in a fast-paced environment.
• Collaborative working style and able to work well in a team environment.
• Working knowledge of GAAP, GL accounting and account reconciliation
• Experience with accounting ERP system.
• Interpersonal and effective written and oral communication skills with the ability to interact with various levels of key stakeholders.
• Ownership and pride in work products.
• Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office products.
• Personal effectiveness, credibility, and high ethical conduct.
