Summary:
The Vice President of Commercial Loan Administration works directly with the Chief Credit Officer in approving, administering and reviewing loans and loan commitments to ensure that they adhere to existing policy guidelines and meet the risk appetite and tolerances of CCBank. The Vice President of Commercial Loan Administration will support the goals of the Bank, and will provide leadership, training, and support in a professional, collaborative, and productive manner with all Bank personnel. The incumbent will report direct to the Chief Credit Officer.
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Underwrite, Structure and Approve credit requests with a Total Credit Exposure (TCE) of less than or equal to 2.5 MM. Assist Loan Officers and Lending Staff on loan structure, underwriting, and loan approvals. Assist the Chief Credit Officer on underwriting larger credit requests on an as needed basis.
- Training & Development- Support the training and development efforts related to the Lending Staff, as well as the Credit Administration staff.
- Loan Review- Support the review of loans prior to Loan Committee. Regularly analyze and monitor existing credits to ensure the correct rating is in place.
- System Proficiency- Develop and maintain proficiency with the Bank's financial analysis software (Abrigio /SageWorks)
- Data Driven Optimization- Assist with the management and maintenance of the Bank's loan portfolio management reports and Early Warning Systems, including:
- Exception Reports
- Tickler Reports
- Delinquency and Maturing Loan Reports
- Perform reviews and analysis on charged off loans
- Performance Management- Assist with and complete employee performance reviews. If needed, perform personnel actions including performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, and interviewing candidates for employment; supervises the activities of employees including, but not limited to, effective delegation of assignments, developing work schedules and providing necessary training.
- Support & Lead: Assist the Relationship Managers with underwriting and Credit Approval Memorandum preparation, as requested. Reinforce the application of superior customer service through example, and appropriate follow through.
- Decision-Making Expertise: Consistently apply excellent decision making techniques pertaining to inquiries, approvals, requests as they apply to existing policies and procedures, keeping within assigned approval limits and using these instances as learning tools for employee development.
- Robust Governance: Support the Chief Credit Officer in maintaining and updating department and Bank loan Policy and Procedures. Establish and implement robust policies, procedures, and reporting mechanisms to rigorously monitor, evaluate, and test performance and compliance, ensuring a culture of transparency and accountability.
- Risk Mitigation: Assure compliance with all Bank policies and procedures, as well as, all applicable state and federal banking regulations through maintaining a robust knowledge of the financial industry, economy, market conditions, rates, vendor and competition. Assist the Bank's compliance with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations through demonstrated proficiency will all applicable laws and regulations. Adhere to Bank policies and procedures. Work with regulators and auditors, as needed.
- Holistic Alignment: Liaise with all relevant teams to ensure seamless alignment of programs with broader business goals and their smooth integration within existing infrastructure. Keep stakeholders informed.
- Represent and Participate: Cultivate and maintain a professional image and rapport with customers, the public, colleagues, Regulators, Auditors, and management. Represent the Bank in various community, civic, and community reinvestment functions to further enhance the Bank's image and develop additional business; assists the Bank in establishing and maintaining market position in the financing arena. Cross-sell the Bank's other products and services, referring customers to appropriate staff as indicated. Participate in various internal committees assigned by Bank Executive and Senior Management.

Specifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) or equivalent work experience.
- Advanced degree (MBA) or certification (CPA, CFA, etc.) strongly preferred.
- Previous banking experience in areas of Loan Review, Credit Analysis, Loan Administration, Lending, Special Assets, loan regulatory compliance, or credit underwriting.
- Experience in Accounting or working knowledge of bank accounting practices.
- Advanced experience, knowledge and training in financial statement and tax return analysis typically resulting from a combination of education and/or credit analysis or related areas.
- Advanced experience, knowledge and training in all lending activities and terminology.
- Advanced knowledge of commercial, construction, real estate and consumer loan processing.
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and instruct others, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, speak clearly to customers and employees.
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a cohesive team.
- Ability to meet bonding requirements for employment purposes.
