Salary range: $126,000 - $188,000
The Director of Financial Planning will be responsible for taking on a leadership role in financial decision-making that affects the organization and will provide strategic financial input to senior management and the OHSU Health system. The role will focus on financial results, outcomes and growth to improve the financial health of the organization and contribution to the OHSU Healthcare System. Recommends and directs financial planning activities with direction from the VP of Finance to ensure both the short and long-term viability of the organization. Coordinates the Hospital's activities concerned with financial administration, daily productivity and expense management processes, statistical reporting, and preparation of budgets and profit/loss studies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES –
Performed majority of the time --
· Execute on the financial strategy of the organization.
· Direct the organization's financial analysis, financial planning in support of its strategic planning, operational efficiency and other organizational development goals.
· Oversees and directs financial analysts to implement effective cost management and adherence to capital and operating budgets.
· Collaborates with Administrative Team to develop, revise and communicate the organization’s mission and to effectively direct, develop and manage its financial resources.
· Identifies trends and opportunities for revenue growth and enhancement as well as operational efficiencies.
· Partners with revenue cycle team and operational leaders to ensure success.
· Effectively and clearly communicate potential financial risks in a timely manner.
· Propose action plans to ensure that annual financial objectives are attained.
· Monthly collaboration with OHSU Hospital Financial Services and OHSU Hospital CFO on financial outcomes and budget-to-actual analysis.
Performed occasionally but critical to successful performance of the job:
· Partners with OHSU revenue cycle to ensure revenue maximizations.
· Annual collaboration on audit requests, as needed.
· Establish guidelines for budget and forecast preparation.
· Prepare the annual operational and capital budget in consultation with the VP of Finance, HMC Executive Team and OHSU Hospital CFO.
· Maintain a 5-year investment and replacement capital plan.
· Participates in the implementation and upgrade of campus wide financial information systems relrelated to the general ledger and financial reporting.
· Manages the preparation of financial information for federal, state and other external surveys, internal program financial statements, and any other requests for financial information.
Decision making and budget responsibilities (e.g. impact limited to the employee, entire unit or organization-wide):
· Organization wide impact for any decisions related to finance and organizational financial goals.
· Direct budget responsibility for the Financial Planning department budget.

Education:
Required
· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with concentration in Accounting or Finance.
Preferred
· Master’s degree in business or healthcare administration preferred.
Experience:
Required
· Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in decision-making accounting/finance roles.
· Minimum 3 years managing personnel.
Preferred
· Experience in a community hospital.
· Healthcare experience highly preferred.
