Job description

Lighthouse Lab Services is excited to represent a clinical laboratory in Menlo Park, CA that is seeking a General Lab Supervisor with experience in hematology or chemistry to oversee laboratory operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring the highest quality of work and compliance with all regulatory requirements. The candidate should have a strong foundation in laboratory operations, with expertise in hematology or chemistry.

In addition, this laboratory has developed a cutting-edge test that will significantly improve patient lives. As General Lab Supervisor, the successful candidate will play a key role in implementing this new test and ensuring its success.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise the daily operations of the laboratory, including hematology and chemistry sections
• Manage the workflow and ensure timely completion of all laboratory tasks
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including CAP, CLIA, and OSHA
• Perform quality control and quality assurance procedures
• Participate in the development and implementation of laboratory policies and procedures
• Maintain accurate records of laboratory activities
• Train and supervise laboratory staff
• Implement and manage the new test, ensuring its success and accuracy

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field
• Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) by ASCP or equivalent
• CLS California state license
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a clinical laboratory, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role
• Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques, instruments, and procedures, with expertise in hematology or chemistry
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
