Job description
We are searching for a highly analytical applicant who is capable of working full-time and possesses strong negotiation and organizational abilities to join our growing firm as an estate planning attorney. The ideal candidate will have 2-10 years of experience and at least $100,000 in annual billings that will transfer with you. We create estate plans for our clients and their families and educate them on matters of insurance and powers of attorney. To guarantee that an estate is managed in accordance with the estate owner's intentions, this role demands a high degree of responsibility. Responsibilities:
- Advise clients regarding retirement plans, charitable giving, and insurance options
- Assist clients effectively by understanding their needs, analyzing the situation, then strategizing and deciding on a proper course of action
- Create wills, trusts, and powers of attorney for your clients
- Consult clients about your plans for distributing their assets
- Attend court proceedings as needed to represent clients
- Prepare wills, trusts, and power of attorney documents
- Educate clients about options for retirement, donating to charity, and purchasing insurance
- Keep client files properly organized and up to date
- Meet with your clients to understand their goals and present them with their planning options
- Communicating with your clients regarding their matters
- Researching novel issues in the law affecting client matters
- Represent clients in probate court proceedings
Qualifications:
- At least 1-2 years of working in a law firm on on estate planning and probate law issues is necessary
- Wide range of knowledge regarding real estate-related topics such as title insurance, wills and trusts, property management, and litigation
- Member in good standing and actively involved with the ABA (American Bar Association)
- Undergraduate degree with a legal background and Juris Doctor degree required
- Excellent communication skills, especially in highly stressful and emotional situations
