Cargas is an employee-owned software company based in Lancaster, PA. If you join our team as a Premier Software Engineer, you will get to work with our own proprietary software, Cargas Energy. You’ll be working with existing customers who already use our product every day. You’ll work through a ticketing system to prioritize bug fixes and make recommendations for SQL server updates. As you resolve each request or bug, it will be important to communicate with the customer to let them know the status of the issue. Strong communication skills will be critical in this role!
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Quickly identify and prioritize issues that slow or stop business operations
- Clearly communicate via ticketing system or direct phone call when necessary
- Deliver support ticket responses efficiently and accurately
- Debug SQL procedures, JavaScript, and .Net code
- Troubleshoot, configure, monitor performance, and make recommendations for SQL server
- Identify key opportunities in our code and makes improvements to benefit customers
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge base on useful scripts, common fixes, and how-to’s
- Develop work-arounds for issues beyond Cargas control (such as hardware issues)
- Use customer experiences and professional insight into emerging devices and technologies to make recommendations for product improvements to Product Development team
- Meets individual and team productivity goals
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field; 1-3 years' experience in programming and/or software development; 1-4 years' experience in a customer facing position (software support experience a plus); or equivalent combination of education and experience
Professional/Technical Knowledge:
- Ability to develop a deep understanding of Cargas Energy software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite software
- Advanced skills in database, software, and web application design and programming
- Knowledge of hardware (servers, tablets and related)
- Strong skills in customer service, communication, mentoring and teaching
- Attention to detail, organizational skills and ability to prioritize own work
- Read, write, understand and speak English fluently
