Position Summary

This position serves as the Business Manager for the Provost Office and the enrollment service and academic support units within the Academic Affairs division including: Academic Advising Center and Career Services; Center for Advancing Teaching and Learning; Financial Aid; Institutional Research, Assessment and Planning; Office of Research and Sponsored Programs; Student Research, Creativity, & Experiential Learning; and Records and Registration. This position manages the budget and all related accounts for the Provost and other stated Academic Affairs units by providing administrative support to those units by acting as the financial advisor to the Provost and unit directors. The Business Manager is responsible for all phases of budget forecasting, development, preparation, and oversight; all personnel-related paperwork; all expense and budget transfers in the division; and financial training and support of unit staff. The position requires extensive computer knowledge and advanced skills in the use of Excel, databases, and related software. The position requires initiative, ability to work independently, use of sound judgment in making decisions, ability to maintain confidentiality, knowledge of University policies, and working cooperatively with other university staff.
